Just finished my drawing for Mickey’s first cartoon “Plane Crazy,” now that it’s in the public domain – celebrating timeless creativity! 🎨✈️ I used Procreate on the iPad Pro with Apple Pencil.

“Plane Crazy” is a classic Mickey Mouse cartoon produced by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. It was first created as a silent film, and its production began in early 1928. The initial release date of “Plane Crazy” was on May 15, 1928, although it wasn’t well-received at that time.

Later, realizing the potential of sound in animation after the success of “Steamboat Willie,” Walt Disney decided to rework “Plane Crazy” with synchronized sound. This decision led to the addition of a soundtrack featuring music, sound effects, and Mickey Mouse’s voice, provided by Walt Disney himself. The updated version of “Plane Crazy” with sound premiered on March 17, 1929, marking Mickey Mouse’s first appearance with synchronized sound.
