I faithfully reconstructed the Dancing scene from the animated short Steamboat Willie (1928), frame by frame, staying close to the original artwork. Using the Procreate app on my iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil, I drew each frame of the animation. Afterward, I transferred the artwork to Photoshop on my computer to apply color to each frame. Following this process, I exported the frames as individual PNG files. Ultimately, I merged these files into an Animated PNG* using the ezgif.com website.

*APNG (Animated Portable Network Graphics) and GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) are both popular formats for creating animations on the web. While GIF  is widely supported across platforms and browsers, APNG offers several advantages such as higher color depth, transparency, and smoother animations. APNG supports variable frame rates and disposal methods, providing more control over animation playback. However, despite its advantages, APNG has limited support compared to GIF, particularly in older web browsers and certain social media platforms. Consequently, GIF remains the more widely used format for sharing animations online due to its broad compatibility, while APNG is favored for applications requiring higher quality and more complex animations.
